The following two books were published by Page One and the Civil War Traveler.
Lee’s Retreat: A History and Field Guide is the classic mile-by-mile driving tour, taking you on the roads the soldiers traveled from Petersburg to Appomattox in April 1865. It features 11 detailed road maps, nine battle diagrams and numerous modern and period photographs and contemporary line drawings. Your purchase of Lee’s Retreat from the publisher, Page One History Publications, includes an insert that updates six pages with changes to the sites since publication. If you already own this book and would like the updates, please download the PDF here.
War So Terrible: A Popular History of the Battle of Fredericksburg was published as a book in 2003. Historian Donald C. Pfanz’s 37 highly readable chapters make the people and place — Fredericksburg, Virginia, in December 1862 — come alive. It is available in both printed and e-book editions. Both editions were published by Page One History Publications.
