9  PA Lecture, “The Civil War in a Global Context,” at the National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg. 1 pm. Free.

9-10  PA  Heritage Trail Hike on the Gettysburg battlefield. 15-mile guided walks follow the “Billy Yank” and “Johnny Reb” trails. Begins at 9 am both days at the Gettysburg NMP visitor center. $110. Details:

15-17  KY  Reenactment, “Battle of Sacramento,” on the historic battlefield near Sacramento. Living history day Friday. Camps and demonstrations 9 am-8 pm Saturday, 10 am-1 pm Sunday. Battle Sunday 1:30 pm.

16  VA  Walking tour and music at Fort Ward in Alexandria. Fort tour 11 am-12:30 pm. Brass band Civil War concert 2 pm. Free.

16-17   Reenactment, “House on the Metolius,” near Camp Sherman. Camps and demonstrations 9 am-5 pm Saturday, 9 am-4 pm Sunday. $8/adult plus parking fee. Directions:
